What do these things mean to you?
To understand your many quests... Epic, tragic, romantic, desperate, inspiring, horrifying, vindicating, illuminating... myths explain it all. I'm fascinated with myths we once told ourselves and the myths we continue to tell ourselves. Archetypes and mythological constructs are my favorite way to understand myself and the world around me. If I could recommend only a few of these books: make sure to read Joseph Campbell's Hero with a Thousand Faces and Jung's Red Book. Those don't begin to fully encompass all of the wonder of world mythology or archetypal identification, but they're a great place to jump off.
